Safeguarding, Prevent and British Values

What is Safeguarding?

Safeguarding is how we protect every learner from harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation - and make sure you feel safe while you study with us.

  • You can talk to any tutor in confidence
  • We listen, take action, and follow it up
  • Help is available even outside teaching hours

What is Prevent?

Prevent is a national duty that supports people who may be at risk of being drawn into extremism or terrorism. Our goal is early, supportive conversations - never punishment.

  • Aimed at protecting people, not policing them
  • Concerns are handled privately and respectfully
  • Support routes available for learners, friends and family

British Values

We promote the five British Values across every course because they help build inclusive, respectful classrooms and stronger futures.

  • Democracy
  • The rule of law
  • Individual liberty
  • Mutual respect
  • Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs

Talk to a Safeguarding Officer

If something is worrying you - or a friend - please get in touch. You can speak to any of the team in confidence.
