What You Will Learn
Using Devices and Handling Information
Confidently navigate laptops, tablets, and smartphones. Learn to manage your files and folders, find information online, and understand how to deal with pop-ups and browser tabs.
Creating and Editing
Develop essential skills for the workplace and personal projects. You'll learn to create and edit documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, adding and formatting text, images, and tables.
Communicating
Master the art of digital communication. Learn to send and receive emails, use messaging apps, and understand the etiquette for communicating effectively on different online platforms.
Transacting
Learn to carry out common online activities safely and securely. This includes online shopping, managing online accounts, and understanding how to make secure payments.
Being Safe and Responsible Online
Protect yourself and your information. This crucial unit covers setting secure passwords, understanding privacy settings, and learning how to identify suspicious emails and websites.

Eight sessions with expert tutors
Delivered in-person by one of our expert Functional Skills tutors. You'll receive comprehensive workbooks and work alongside the tutor, who guides you through the material, provides direct support, and prepares you for the final assessment.

For institutional demands we can tailor a schedule that works for you — whether that's once a week to allow for reflection, or in a more intensive block to suit operational requirements. Training can be delivered on-site at your workplace or at one of our dedicated training centres.

Further Information
Qualification: We offer this course at both Entry Level 3 and Level 1. Upon successful completion, you will receive a nationally recognised Gateway Qualifications Certificate in Digital Functional Skills at your chosen level.
Assessment: The course is assessed through a single, task-based assessment taken during the final session. This practical test allows you to demonstrate your skills in a real-world context.
Entry Requirements: There are no formal entry requirements for this course, other than a willingness to learn. We will work with you to ensure you are placed on the level that is right for you.
