Course Overview

The Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health course is designed to provide professionals, caregivers, and educators with essential knowledge and practical skills to support the mental well-being of children and young people. This course explores the key aspects of mental health in younger populations, including common mental health issues, early identification, and effective support strategies.

Participants will gain insights into the emotional and psychological development of children and adolescents, recognising signs and symptoms of mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, and behavioural disorders. The course covers best practices for promoting positive mental health, creating supportive environments, and engaging with children and young people to address their mental health needs effectively.

By the end of the course, learners will be equipped with a deeper understanding of mental health issues affecting children and young people, as well as practical tools to support and improve their mental well-being.

Important: The course will be completed online via our e-assessor platform. The duration of the course is seven weeks and is designed to be completed around your work and home life commitments. All deadlines for your course will be shown in your online course platform once you are enrolled to keep track. This course would be particularly useful in a career in social work, teaching or as a health play specialist.
