It’s been just over a month since Haseeb joined Functional Skills UK as our KTP Associate and AI Developer, and things are already moving fast.
Haseeb recently spent time at Edinburgh Napier University, where he shared his knowledge of AI with teaching and learning specialists, as well as students from the Computer Science School and the MBA programme. Professor Sheehan from ENU mentioned that her MBA Research Methods students were especially thankful for Haseeb’s practical advice on how to use AI in their projects.
Working from our Portslade office, Haseeb is developing new tools that make learning more accessible and effective for everyone. His main focus right now is an AI-powered Initial Assessment Tool designed to spot learners who may need extra support from day one. He’s also looking at ways to make FSUK’s digital systems easier to use and more inclusive for all learners.
Haseeb said:
“It has been just over five weeks since I joined Functional Skills UK as a KTP Associate – AI Developer, and integrating into the team has been a truly rewarding experience. The collaborative and forward-thinking culture at FSUK has made it easy to share ideas, experiment with new technologies, and work closely with tutors and staff to enhance digital productivity.
My current focus is on developing AI-driven tools that improve accessibility and learning efficiency. The main project underway is an AI-Integrated Initial Assessment Tool (IAT) designed to identify learners who may need additional support from day one. Alongside this, I’ve been exploring ways to make FSUK’s digital learning systems more inclusive and user-friendly, ensuring all content meets the latest accessibility standards.
I’m excited to keep contributing to FSUK’s innovation journey by combining research-led design with practical, scalable solutions that make learning more accessible, inclusive, and effective for everyone.”
We’re really proud to see how this partnership with Edinburgh Napier University is already bringing results. The KTP is helping us turn research into real solutions that improve education and open new opportunities for learners across the country.
