Case Study: Brighton & Hove Albion FC – Upskilling Security Staff with UK Prosperity Funds
Functional Skills UK (FSUK) is proud to highlight our successful partnership with Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club, delivering high-quality training that has directly enhanced the skills and career prospects of the club’s security team.
With support from the UK Prosperity Fund, secured via Brighton & Hove City Council, FSUK delivered a Highfield Level 2 SIA Door Supervisor course at the AMEX Stadium, providing security staff with the qualifications needed to progress from stewarding roles into senior SIA supervisory positions.
All 12 participants successfully passed the course, equipping them with essential skills and accreditation to take on greater responsibilities within the club’s operations.
Driving Workforce Development with Real Impact
Brighton & Hove Albion FC sought an accredited training provider to ensure their security team had the necessary qualifications to step into supervisory roles. With our expert-led training and commitment to high-quality adult learning, FSUK was the ideal partner for this upskilling initiative.
This fully funded programme allowed staff to gain essential security skills, achieve SIA licensing, and develop hands-on knowledge of crowd safety management in a professional sports venue. Our training sessions were engaging, practical, and tailored to the club’s specific needs, ensuring every participant left with the confidence to step into their new roles.
Key Outcomes of the Training Programme
- 100% Pass Rate – All 12 staff members successfully achieved their SIA Level 2 certification.
- Career Progression – Participants advanced into senior security roles with increased responsibilities.
- Practical, Industry-Specific Training – The programme was designed to meet the security demands of a top-tier football club.
- Funded Development – Support from the UK Prosperity Fund, facilitated by Brighton & Hove City Council, removed financial barriers for participants.
- On-Site Training – Sessions took place at the AMEX Stadium, ensuring real-world relevance to their daily roles.
