These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and your bookings with Functional Skills UK Limited.

2. Course Bookings
2.1 Commercial Courses

Commercial bookings are made directly through Stripe using a hosted payment link.

Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.

You will receive a confirmation email once your booking is complete.
2.2 Funded Courses

Funded courses are available to eligible learners through partnerships with local authorities or prime learning providers.

No payment is required for funded learners, but eligibility will be assessed based on government criteria.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
3.1 Commercial Bookings

You have the right to cancel a commercial booking within 14 days of purchase, unless the course begins within 14 days, in which case the right to cancel is waived.

If you purchase an online self-study course, your right to a refund is forfeited once you access the course materials, even if this is within the 14-day window.

To cancel, you must contact us by email at info@functionalskillsuk.com or call 01273 526996.

No refunds are available after 14 days from the date of payment.
3.2 Funded Learners

Funded learners may cancel their place at any time, but this does not result in a refund, as no payment was taken.

If you fail to attend or complete the course without a valid reason, this may affect your ability to join future programmes.

We may also be required to report non-attendance to your referral partner, such as the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) or another employment support service.
4. Payments and Stripe
All commercial payments are securely processed via Stripe.
Stripe’s terms apply to all transactions. We do not store or process card details directly on our website.
5. Course Changes
We reserve the right to:

Reschedule or cancel courses due to low enrolment or unforeseen circumstances

Change course tutors, delivery format, or content where necessary
We will inform you promptly if any changes affect your booking.
6. Learner Conduct
We expect all learners to:

Behave respectfully toward staff and other participants

Attend sessions on time and participate fully

Follow any health and safety or safeguarding guidelines issued
We reserve the right to remove any learner from a course without refund if behaviour is inappropriate or disruptive.
7. Privacy and Data Protection
We collect and process personal data in line with our Privacy Policy. This includes your contact details, course preferences, and (if applicable) eligibility for funded learning.

8. Intellectual Property
All course materials, website content, and documentation are the intellectual property of Functional Skills UK or its partners and must not be reproduced, shared, or copied without permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
We will not be liable for:

Any loss of income or opportunity caused by delayed course delivery

Technical issues preventing access to online content

Third-party failures (e.g. Stripe or local authority partners)
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific course (if any).
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
