Course description
This bespoke course brings together key qualifications that help learners to get a job in construction.
Working in partnerships with Brighton and Hove City Council and The Shore Group, this course covers essential knowledge and skills to get started in the construction industry. This course is run over three days and covers health and safety, first aid, manual handing, asbestos awareness, and this course provides recruitment and job support.
Certification
To complete this course, learners will need to attend all three days of the course and achieve each qualification/training. One completion, learners will receive:
Level 1 award in Health and Safety in Construction (including CSCS card)
Level 2 First Aid at work
Manual Handling awareness
Asbestos Awareness
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge of common hazards and risks in a construction environment
Safe manual handling practices
Working safely at height
Working safely around plant and machinery
The importance of effective teamwork and communication in ensuring safe working practices are followed in the construction industry
Supporting First aid at work by being able to provide initial care, as well as cardiac problems, and other primary care first aid problems
Awareness of manual handling and how to do this safely
Awareness of asbestos and how to manage this safely
