COURSE DESCRIPTION
The NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Nutrition and Health is designed for a wide range of learners with some existing knowledge of this area who are interested in improving their understanding of nutrition and healthy eating.
This qualification aims to increase understanding of the principles of healthy eating and the role of food in maintaining health as well as increase confidence in planning and achieving a healthy diet. It will also provide an understanding of how an individual’s dietary requirements change throughout their life and provide an understanding of food labelling and the ability to use information from food labels. Information on eating disorders will be provided and also an increase in learner’s understanding of the role of a healthy diet for weight management. This certificate is aimed at learners working in, or intending to work in, settings such as sport and recreation, exercise and fitness, hospitality and catering or healthcare.
CERTIFICATION
For a learner to be awarded the level 2 certificate, the 5 mandatory units need to be successfully completed. Once the units have been achieved, the awarding body, NCFE, will send you your certificate. The assessment method for this qualification is a portfolio of evidence.
