Course description

The Awareness of Mental Health Problems course is designed to provide participants with a foundational understanding of common mental health issues and the impact they have on individuals and society. This course aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and equip learners with the knowledge to recognize the signs and symptoms of various mental health conditions.

Participants will explore a range of mental health problems, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and eating disorders. The course covers the causes, symptoms, and potential treatments for these conditions, along with strategies for providing initial support and encouraging individuals to seek professional help. Emphasis is placed on fostering empathy, understanding, and creating supportive environments for those affected by mental health issues.

By the end of the course, learners will be better equipped to understand and respond to mental health challenges in their personal and professional lives.

Delivery

The course will be completed online via our e-assessor platform. The duration of the course is seven weeks and is designed to be completed around your work and home life commitments. All deadlines for your course will be shown in your online course platform once you are enrolled to keep track.

Mental health presents one of the greatest challenges to our society. With an estimated 450 million people
worldwide suffering from a mental health problem, around a quarter of British adults will experience some
form of mental health problem within the course of a year. While many elements of mental health are still
not understood, having a good knowledge of the information that is available is essential in the care sector.
