What is the scheme?

If you are currently employed and looking to develop your skills then the Employed Adult Education Budget (AEB) funding scheme may be what you are looking for! Functional Skills UK offer a wide range of their courses fully funded under this funding scheme, including Functional Skills Maths, Functional Skills English and our eLearning Short Courses. We provide this funding to our learners through our partnership with GBMET College, to help individuals develop and gain new qualifications.


To be eligible for the AEB Employed funding scheme, you must be:

  • Aged 19 or over
  • Employed
  • Live in a non-devolved area
  • Have lived in the UK or EU for at least 3 years
  • Earning less than £20,319.00 annual gross salary (this is not a requirement if you are interested in completing Functional Skills)
