Meet the Team

Kevin Brady / MA TESOL
 International Director

Kevin is British and has worked in International education for 30 years. He started his career as an English teacher in the UK working for international private schools and colleges. He then progressed into Teacher Training, delivering training programmes in the UK, Europe and South East Asia.

For the last 20 years, Kevin has held a number of senior education management positions in international schools and colleges. These include roles as Director of Studies, Director of Overseas Teacher Training, Head of Academic Enrichment, Head of Higher Education, Head of International and Operations Director.

Kevin has collaborated with corporations in the UK, Europe, South America and South East Asia to design and project manage education training programmes for executives, managers and other employees. He has also provided project governance for state and private Teacher Training programmes in a number of countries.

Niamh Hardy
 International Coordinator

Niamh has worked at FSUK for several years, working as a Functional Skills Coordinator during her gap year, before going to Nottingham Trent University to study Law with Business. Since graduating, Niamh has joined the FSUK International College Team. She is the main point of contact for the groups when they are over in the UK, and oversees the day-to-day operations of the College. Niamh is happy to help in any way she can to ensure students have a positive experience on our programmes.

Carl Southwell
 Business and Economics Tutor

Carl has been supporting young people and adults with the skills and mindset for starting businesses for over 10 years. His engaging and unique teaching style, combines academic understanding with practical and critical thinking to help foster a new generation of business minds. He is a born and bred Brightonian, who enjoys spending time at the beach with his son Franco, playing sports and burgers.

Martin Threadgold
 Mathematics and Economics Tutor

Martin has taught in some of the UK’s most prestigious schools and has also worked in seven other countries including Malaysia, Greece and Russia. He has a keen interest in International Economics and Politics and he likes to encourage enthusiasm and teamwork in the classroom. He coached football in the past but now is happy just watching Liverpool. It is rumoured that he once played bass guitar in a rock band in Japan.

Martin Nichols
 English Literature Tutor

Martin Nichols graduated from Cambridge University with an M.A. and spent his whole career teaching English at a Sixth Form College in Southern England. Under his leadership the English Department was rated Outstanding by OFSTED. For four years Martin has been a Senior Examiner for English Literature A Level. He has a particular interest in drama, especially the plays of Arthur Miller and Shakespeare, and for four years was the Artistic Director of the New Venture Theatre in Brighton. His other enthusiasm is film-making, and his recent feature-length movie “There’s Another Country” was rated “groundbreaking work” by the Fringe Review. He lives in Brighton and is kept in line by his cat, Tiger

Manus McGrogan
 History Tutor

Belfast-born but Brighton-based, I am a professional historian, linguist, artist and lecturer with eight years’ experience of teaching in UK universities at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. My list of publications includes books on Karl Marx and 1968, and scholarly articles on sociopolitical movements of the ‘Global ’60s’. Additionally, I have published and spoken internationally on the history of French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. Over 20 years, I taught French language and translation in personal, secondary and higher educational contexts. Currently, I also teach life drawing and portraiture to budding artists across Brighton & Hove. Outside of work, I am an enthusiastic portrait artist, guitarist, sea-swimmer and world traveller.
